  • District or individual bargaining unit(s) can choose to offer as many as four PPO medical plans, four Kaiser HMO plans (if work or live in a Kaiser approved zip code), one High Deductible Health Plan (HDHP), and the Wellness PPO Plan. Possible total number of plans offered is ten per unit with no pre-existing condition clauses.
  • Additional ancillary offerings include Delta Dental, Vision Service Plan (VSP), ValueOptions Employee Assistance Program (EAP) and MetLife Group Term Life Insurance and AD&D coverage.
  • Composite, two tier and three tier rate structures are available. Each bargaining unit can choose a different rate structure(s) for each line of coverage.
  • Individual bargaining units can choose CVT as their provider. We do not require an entire district to join CVT nor take all products offered. Management/Confidential employees may join the Trust as long as one of the represented bargaining units elects to participate.
  • All full time active employees of a district and/or bargaining unit are required to participate in the benefit plan(s) elected.
  • 150% Rule - Special reduced rate applied to married couples and qualified domestic partners employed by the same district if both are enrolled in a PPO Plan and are on a composite rate.
  • CVT has dedicated Anthem Blue Cross claim processing office with an 800 number for CVT members only.
  • Each District assigned a dedicated Member Services Representative available to assist participating members with questions regarding enrollment, COBRA, benefits, eligibility, and resolution of claim issues.
  • Each District assigned a dedicated Account Manager available to assist with benefit or enrollment meetings, renewals, educating members, and facilitating all group/unit wide changes.
  • CVT administers all aspects of self-paid retiree and COBRA coverage for Districts.
  • All eligible retirees must enroll in Medicare Part A and B.
  • Dependent children are now covered until age 26, meeting the new Federal legislation.
