"Fit for Life" Wellness Program
"Committed to improving the overall health of our participants by providing resources and programs designed to promote a better quality of life."
"Fit for Life" is a CVT initiative designed to help districts and participants leverage healthy lifestyle opportunities. Promoting wellness and health education continue to be at the forefront of our program offerings in providing quality health benefits to our districts and their employees.
The program is a platform for districts and members to participate in health screenings, fairs and events, while also promoting school involvement and success.
CVT, in partnership with our vendors, aims to provide districts with customized offerings such as on-site health screenings. These events provide members with valuable medical information, promote healthy lifestyles and provide preventitive education to members who want to continue improving their health. Over the years, the program has expanded with many of our districts who are getting involved.
The Goals of the "Fit for Life" Wellness Program:
- Encourage district participation in health-related initiatives
- Offer health-focused and preventive events at school sites
- Provide participants with access to resources and tools
- Help participants identify health risks while improving quality of life and productivity
- Provide additional value to your benefit program
- Impact healthcare costs
How to implement "Fit for Life"
Districts
Give your employees the access to resources they want. Start now by contacting CVT to kick off one the programs below:
On-site Health Screening Events
CVT partners with different vendors to provide free resources for biometric screening events right at your district site. Screenings include: Total Cholesterol, Glucose, Body Mass Index, and Blood Pressure. A minimum 40 participants are required.
On-site Health Seminars
CVT partners with vendors to provide a variety of health seminars at the school district. These dynamic seminars present current information on numerous topics, such as fitness, sleep, stress, chronic diseases, smoking cessation, men’s health, women’s health to name a few. These presentations can be planned as “Lunch N’Learn” seminars or scheduled for after-school events.
On-site Work/Life Seminars
CVT also partners with vendors to provide a variety of work/life seminars at the school district. The seminars cover a wide array of topics such as Personal Development, Work Place Issues, Legal/Financial topics, Work/Life Balance and even Manager/Supervisor training. They can be planned as “Lunch N’Learn” seminars or scheduled for after-school events.
Fit for Life with the LA Lakers
Team up with the Los Angeles Lakers. Each Fall, all schools in L.A. County can compete in a "Fit for Life" Trivia challenge for eligible 3-8 grade students and teachers. It's complete with health quizzes, contests and ultimately meeting some of the Lakers players. Winning districts earn a day with the LA Lakers, LA Laker girls and even a few LA Laker team members.

Health/Benefit Fairs
Understanding your medical coverage and health benefits is critical to getting the most from your health plan coverage. CVT goes on the road each year upon invitation to on-site health/benefit fairs. There's nothing like in-person access to healthcare professionals on your campus.
Participants
The programs highlighted above can all be made available to you through your district. Your involvement in "Fit for Life" through the utilization of provided tools and information is an effort in which each of us can contribute to our own well being. Getting involved in district initiatives can give you access to professionals, free screenings and a chance to impact your school, community and you. We hope you can help make a difference.
