CVT offers 10 Anthem Blue Cross or Interplan Health Groups plans that allow a district/bargaining unit to nearly customize its healthcare and prescription plan. Each has a different premium attached to it depending on the coverage to be offered. PPO plans allow the participant to visit the approved provider of their choice so long as the provider is approved.
The plans all provide for an annual physical allowance, hospital emergencies, chiropractic and acupuncture visits as well as mental heath options. All the plans have a $5 million lifetime maximum benefit.
Plans 1, 2, and 3 require no co-insurance which means the participant pays little out of his/her pocket. Plan 4 is CVT's most popular plan and includes a $100 annual deductible for an individual and $300 for a family. The annual maximum out of pocket under this plan is $300. Office visit co-pays are just $10.
Plans 4 and 5 are 90% co-insurance. Plans 6-10 are 80% co-insurance and require more out of pocket for the participant but lower premiums.
Prescription plans work the same way. There are four different plans to choose from depending on the level of benefit desired. CVT partners with Caremark, the largest nationwide network of pharmacies, to offer these multiple plans with different co-pays, all with open formulary, so the participant can have access to the drug prescribed for him/her.
Through Caremark which has 60,000 participating retail pharmacies, CVT offers a three tier drug benefit program (non-preferred, preferred and generic) to encourage the use of lower cost drugs. Seven state of the art mail order service pharmacies for maintenance drugs are available that can save participants money.

CVT also offers two high deductible healthcare plan options that are designed to provide coverage at very reasonable premiums. A unit can pick one of the two options. They were designed to meet the guidelines of Health Savings Accounts.
