CVT offers ten Preferred Provider Organization (PPO) plans that allow a district/bargaining unit to nearly customize its healthcare and prescription plan(s). Each has a different premium attached to it depending on the coverage to be offered. Each of these plans must be paired with one of the four pharmacy plans choices available. Each unit may choose to offer four of the ten PPO plans. CVT now offers a Wellness PPO Plan that targets health initiatives, including prevention with built in rewards and credits that can be used towards out-of-pocket expenses. The plans all provide for an annual physical allowance, hospital emergencies, chiropractic and acupuncture visits as well as mental health options. All the plans have unlimited lifetime maximum benefit and are compliant with Health Care Reform benefits. Plans 1, 2, and 3 pay at 100%, Plans 4 and 5 are 90% co-insurance and Plans 6-10 are 80% co-insurance and require more out of pocket for the participant but lower premiums.

Prescription Plan Options

Prescription plans work the same way. There are four different plans to choose from depending on the level of benefit desired. CVT partners with Caremark, the largest nationwide network of pharmacies, to offer these multiple plans with different co-pays, all with open formulary, so the participant can have access to the drug prescribed for him/her.

Through Caremark which has 60,000 participating retail pharmacies, CVT offers a three tier drug benefit program (non-preferred, preferred and generic) to encourage the use of lower cost drugs. High Deductible Healthcare Plans

CVT also offers two High Deductible Health (HDHP) Plans that are designed to provide coverage at very reasonable premiums. A unit can pick one of the two options. They were designed to meet the guidelines of Health Savings Accounts.
