March 6, 2024

This is an exciting time for all of us at CVT. Not only are we preparing to launch programs that are important to our members, but CVT turns 40 years old this year! So much has changed over the past 40 years, but the one thing that hasn’t changed is how we take care of our members.

Our goal has always been to give our members more healthcare choices at the lowest possible cost. While that goal hasn’t changed, I would add that we are always on the lookout for ways to keep you healthy, which is good for you and also keeps your healthcare costs down.

Less out of pocket and better health for you in 2024.

Like most things in the world today, healthcare costs are more expensive than they used to be. Unfortunately, we can’t turn the clock back to 1984 when costs were lower, but we are constantly working to find solutions to help you stay healthy and reduce your out-of-pocket costs.

Given the costs—both those that are expected—as well as those that aren’t—that come with surgery and cancer care, CVT is working with the best surgeons, cancer care doctors and medical facilities in California (and around the country) to make sure that you know what you’re paying ahead of time, that there aren’t any surprise bills, and that your travel costs are covered in the event that the best doctor and facility for you isn’t in your home town. No surprises, just great care.
We’re also working to address two areas that are important to our members—diabetes care and weight-loss management. CVT is investigating ways to bring you the best, easiest to use, and most cost-effective approaches for each. More information on this will be coming in the Spring.

CVT will continue to do all we can to help slow the tide of rising healthcare costs, while at the same time finding ways to help you manage these costs effectively, and reducing your out-of-pocket costs where we can.
If you have any questions about these programs or your benefits in general, call CVT Member Services at (800) 288-9870 or use our CHAT feature at cvtrust.org.
